Brumas - A Samoyed
Of all the dogs that I have worked with, the one that stands out the most is Brumas a Samoyed. He was a show dog that was named after a Polar Bear cub that was born at London Zoo in 1949 because as a puppy he looked like a Polar Bear cub.
It really was a pleasure to spin Brumas' hair even though his fur was over 45years old and had been stored in a trunk since he had died in 1968. It had felted a bit but carded very well.
Jackie, on the right as a six year old, sent me Brumas' fur to make a cushion for her mother's birthday.
